Student stories
Feedback from people who sat at our desks, marked our charts, and went home to practise on their own.
The head-and-shoulders exercise on page fourteen of the workbook took me twenty minutes and two corrections from Duc before I drew the neckline level correctly. Frustrating in the moment, but that chart is now the one I picture whenever I see three peaks forming on a screen.
Minh T.Chart Patterns Intro, March 2026
I appreciated that nobody pushed me to open a live trade at the end of the day. Thuy was clear that patterns give context, not guarantees. That honesty made me trust the rest of the instruction more.

Candlestick Foundations was shorter than I expected, which turned out to be fine. Four hours was enough to cover hammer and engulfing without my attention drifting. I would have liked one more week of examples on evening star formations — that pattern still trips me up.
Lan P.Candlestick Foundations, February 2026
I brought three charts from my own watchlist to the private review. Duc spotted that I had drawn support through the bodies instead of the wicks on two of them. Small detail, but it changed where I expected price to react. Worth the session fee for that alone.

Practice Lab on Wednesday evenings fits my office schedule. I have attended four times now. The chart sets are different each week, and Linh remembers which patterns I struggled with previously — she sometimes slips an extra triangle example into my pile.

My university finance club booked six seats for the intro workshop. The studio felt cramped with all of us, but Thuy split us into two marking pairs and it worked. Two classmates have since signed up for the candlestick session on their own.

Case: From confused viewer to consistent marker
Student: An, 34, accountant at a logistics firm, no prior trading experience.
Starting point: An had watched dozens of chart pattern videos but could not reproduce markings on a blank chart. She enrolled in Candlestick Foundations in October 2025, then Chart Patterns Intro in November.
During training: An struggled most with distinguishing bull flags from pennants when the consolidation was short. Duc spent an extra ten minutes during Practice Lab showing her three side-by-side examples with volume notes written beneath each.
Outcome after eight weeks: An now marks a daily VN-Index chart each morning before work. She reports still missing patterns occasionally but can name what she sees rather than guessing. She has not placed a live trade and says she does not plan to until she completes two more lab sessions focused on breakout confirmation.
Case: Preparing for a brokerage trainee assessment
Student: Tuan, 26, applicant for a junior analyst role at a HCMC securities firm.
Starting point: Tuan understood theory from his finance degree but had limited hands-on chart marking experience. He booked a one-on-one review one week before his employer's technical analysis test.
During training: Tuan brought charts he had prepared for the assessment. Thuy simulated test conditions: ten minutes per chart, no talking, then a joint review of his markings against a scoring rubric similar to what firms use.
Outcome: Tuan passed the chart identification section of his assessment. He returned for two Practice Lab sessions during his probation period and now refers junior colleagues to the intro workshop.
